September 21–27 made agents much easier to set up. You can connect a self-hosted agent with an address and a password, or run one on your own computer with your existing Claude Code or Codex login. Desktop also got a new layout, a reorganized Settings, and Dashboards.
Connect a self-hosted agent
Connecting an agent you run yourself now takes an address and a password. Nuphos detects whether it is Claude Code or Codex and names it after its host.
- Pairing: an agent's console can show a Connect to Nuphos link with a one-time pairing code. Opening it in Desktop connects the agent to the team you choose.
- Sign in from the app: sign the agent in to Claude Code or Codex from its card in Settings → Agent. The login stays on the agent. Nuphos does not store the token.
- Charts: self-hosted agents now show CPU, memory, disk and session charts, like managed ones.
Managed agents now work the same way. Nuphos deploys them, and you sign them in from the app. Everything starts from a single Add agent dialog, in Settings → Agent or from the agent picker.
Run an agent on your own computer
Desktop can now run Claude Code or Codex locally, using the claude or codex login already on your computer. Your personal configuration and MCP servers stay out of it. The local agent appears as Local in the agent picker. Only you can use it, in your own conversations.
Local exec also works across several computers. Each computer has a This computer settings page where you can name it and allow local exec. When the agent runs a command, you can choose which of your computers it runs on. Every command is recorded in an audit log.
A new Desktop layout
- Sidebar and dock: Skills, Memories, Triggers and Connectors open in the main pane. Plans, Architecture, Dashboards and Monitoring open from the dock's New Tab page. Cmd+N returns to a new chat.
- Browser and Terminal tabs: the dock can now open a browser tab or a local terminal.
- Shells panel: commands the agent runs in a terminal appear in a collapsible list above the status line, with live output and exit codes.
- Settings by scope: Settings (⌘,) holds your account and this computer. Team settings (⇧⌘,) holds team-wide options. My preferences holds your personal Instructions and archived chats.
Dashboards and Triggers
Cost Management is now Dashboards. Each panel is a script that runs on your team's agent, so it can chart any data the agent can reach, not only cost. Set a dashboard's auto-refresh schedule (daily, weekly or monthly) from its header. Each option shows the time in UTC and in your local time.
The Triggers page now has a Calendar view, which replaces the separate Schedule page. Schedules are labelled in UTC.
More improvements
- New PostHog connector. Connect with PostHog OAuth, pick projects, and the agent can query them with HogQL.
- New Huawei Cloud connector, using short-lived federated credentials.
- Linear issue links open inside the app, with team and issue browsing. If Linear access expires, you can reconnect it from the Linear page.
- An Archived chats page lets you unarchive conversations. Sending a message to an archived chat brings it back.
- The new-conversation composer has a model picker.
- Unsent drafts are kept per conversation.
- Messages sent while the agent is briefly busy are queued instead of failing.
- The agent can see credentials that are connected to the team but not selected in this conversation, and asks you to tick them.
Mobile
- Smoother chat scrolling and transcript layout.
- You can pick your own computers for local agents and local exec.
Removed
- Reminders have been removed. To have the agent come back to something later, create a Trigger with a schedule.
- Database alert triggers have been removed as a separate feature. To get alerted when a database metric crosses a threshold, create a regular scheduled Trigger whose prompt checks the metric.
Fixes
- Codex stays in Full Access after a session is restored, and a turn the provider refuses is reported as a failed turn.
- Plan approvals no longer surface as recalled Memory in unrelated conversations.
- Huawei Cloud requests are signed correctly.
Available in Desktop v0.67.0 and later.
